Robert Parker comments :

(…)”The understated style of the 1993 Ausone offers mineral, lead pencil scents with some redcurrant fruit in the restrained, backward bouquet. Austere and medium-bodied, this tannic, attenuated, lean wine will undoubtedly dry out long before the tannin melts away.”  (02/1997)

MORE INFORMATIONS ABOUT 1993 CHÂTEAU AUSONE :

Located in St Emilion, near Bordeaux (Gironde, France), the Château Ausone is part of the prestigious family of the 1st Grands Crus Classés A.

This small domain of 7 hectares takes its name from the consul “Ausone” (Ausonius), from its complete name Decimus Magnus Ausonius, born in 309/310 in Bazas or Bordeaux.

The 1993 Château Ausone is rated 16/20 by the “Revue des Vins de France”.

Considered as the archetype of the fine and very aromatic wine of Saint-Émilion, the Château Ausone is lined with a character characteristic of the limestone terroir where its vineyards flourish.

This brings a great minerality and a very long style accompanied by a great freshness to this wonderful wine.
